While browsing through an interesting blog post, the idea of writing on “how to make money passively” came to my mind. I want to narrow down the passive moneymaking methods in relation to blogging. If you have a blog, then you can easily work on these methods to create a stream of passive income.

Passive income means earning money even after you stop working. It is like an income that continues indefinitely after work.

Below I’m listing three techniques of earning passive income. There are plenty more such techniques are available.

1. Search-Engine Marketing

Search engine marketing is different from search engine optimization or writing SEO content. Search engine marketing, if skillfully used, can bring in lots of money for you. Use the sidebars of your site or blog to promote products which can get you money.

But to make money, you should be able to get your pages in the first positions in search results. If you appear in the first positions in search engines, then you can expect good amount of money.

For example, Brian Clark of Copyblogger has a collection of links to pages on the left sidebar. It also includes a copywriting courses link. On the page, he has added two reviews of affiliate products that help in mastering your own copywriting. The page appears as the first result for “copywriting courses” on Google.

What can you do?

To earn passive income from search-engine marketing from your blog, create valuable content and get higher authority. Then create and SEO page for blog’s sidebar.

2. Subscription Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a very good technique for earning good amount of money. Affiliate programs that offer residual income are the best affiliate programs. It can get into subscription marketing as an affiliate.

Try affiliate marketing for a magazine. The subscription rates generally low, may be as low as $1 to $10. You can easily make $2 from each subscriber. People do not mind paying the low subscription rates and when they pay, you also get paid. It’s

You earn money from two types of subscribers-one those who stay for a long time and the other who stay for a shorter time. From long staying subscribers, you keep making money every month for years and from the short term service drivers, you make money at least for a few months.

3. Project Outsourcing

Outsourcing simply means hiring someone else to do your work. This is passive to a lesser extent. You need to oversee the projects, and manage them. But here you need not work as hard as blogging yourself. You can run the entire business in a passive way.

Outsourcing is necessary in different aspects of your blogging business. You can outsource the designing of your blogs, server maintenance, writing, managing, marketing and other elements of your blog. You cannot do everything of your own. If you have heard of Timothy Ferriss, you probably already know that he wants to outsource the entire business. Some other people like Jon Morrow and Brian Clark, reject the idea that outsourcing is always the best call.

Outsource what would think you can not do perfectly or what you do not have time for. You can outsource the whole business or a part of it, depending on your own judgment.

Conclusion

I have listed only three passive ways to earn money from your blog. As I said, there are several other techniques of passive money making from blogs. Share them here. Let me know about them and I would list your techniques in this blog. Soon, I’m going to talk about the “Blog Business Model,” which will focus on making money from your blog with a perfect business model.
