1. Create a Seller’s Account

To start your business at eBay, you will need to open an account with eBay and complete the verification process. Once you register yourself with eBay, you can sell your items. You can register your business by clicking the register button in the eBay home page. You can then create a “seller’s account”. You need to pass the verification test. Verification can be done by several ways like

1. Credit card verification  –immediate
2. Phone verification   -immediate
3. SMS    -immediate
4. Postal Mail verification -3 days

There are online payment methods are available in eBay. You may need to register with such payment methods to receive your money.

2. Prepare your item

You need to prepare your items before you go for selling. For such preparation, you need to do little research. Your research should be on the eBay marketplace, where you need to find out about the related products. What should you find out

A. What is the category related items are listed in
B. What is the average price charged by other sellers
C. What is the shipping cost charged by other buyers
D. How the descriptions are written
E. Have they included any pictures

With your research, you will be able to create a perfect product portfolio for the buyers, which will attract more of them.
 
3. List the item for sale

Now after your research, you need to list your items in the eBay marketplace. For listing your products, you need to fill a easy-to-use Sell your item form.

Provide the following details in the form –

A. Item category- Select the proper item category in the form. Enter the best keyword in the form. The category that you select should be the most relevant one to your product.

B. Title- Your title of the listing should be attractive to attract the buyers. This is the first thing that the buyers see.

C. Add pictures – Adding a photograph is very much necessary to sell more. Buyers would like to see the product, before they buy.

D. Enter a description – The description will help the buyers to understand about the product and its condition. The description should include everything that a buyer would like to know.

E. Choose a selling format – You can go for Auction or for Buy It Now format for selling your items. When you select auction option, the buyers can put bid for the items. In case of Buy It Now, the buyers can buy it at a fixed price.

F. Choose payment methods – There are several payment methods are available. You can simply select one or more of them to receive the payment.  On eBay, you can have the following payment options -

- PaisaPay (Mandatory)
- Cash on Delivery 
- Cheque 
- Demand Draft 
- Buyer Picks Up and Pays

G. Specify shipping charges – Specify the shipping charges for your products. 

H. Select Gallery – Select a gallery where you want your listing to appear and hen save it there. Now the buyers will be able to see your listing. 
 

4. Track your listing

After creating your listing, you need to keep track of it or maintain it. In your “My eBay” page you will find every details.
 
5. Receive payment and complete the sale 

 Depending on your payment method, you will receive the payment in different ways. After confirmation from eBay of sale of your item, you need to send an invoice to the buyer. The buyer will pay accordingly.

You can get the payment through PaisaPay, through draft, cheque, bank transfer or through other method you opted for.

Once you complete the formalities an receive the money, do not forget to leave a feedback about the buyer. This step is necessary for building credibility and trust.
